The trek, which started in Almaty, Kazakhstan, heads through endless grasslands to Kolsai Lake National park.

Kolsai Lake National Park, which has three lakes from 1,818m to 2,850m above sea level, is considered one of the most beautiful in Kazakhstan.

In particular, the lake formed by water flowing down from the melting ice and glaciers of the Tian Shan Mountains boasts a mysterious water color.

Kolsai Lake means ‘lake of the canyon’ in Kazakh.

The first lake, which is about 2km long, is the longest and largest of the three lakes in Kolsai, and has a depth of 80m at its deepest point.

Tianshan does not easily give up its beautiful lake scenery.
